KIMONO - YUKATA
In this class students will make a traditional Japanese
cotton Kimono called a Yukata in their own size without
using a paper pattern. You will cut the fabrics with the
instructor by using your own body measurement.
SATURDAY, MAY 30th

IMPROVISATIONAL QUILTING WITH JAPANESE FABRIC
1 session – Cheri Wilkins
Find your Wabi-Sabi… the quintessential Japanese aesthetic.
Leave your preconceived ideas about color and
perfect piecing at home. Work with unusual fabrics, cut
without templates, experience new and surprising color
combinations to create a small quilt top that differ from
your expectations. Although the focus is on using antique
Japanese fabrics (available at PFC,) this creative technique
can be used with almost any fabric combination.
SATURDAY, JUNE 6th.
10:00-4:00pm. Fee $50.
BERNINA SOFTWARE CLASS
1 sessions – Marlee Carter
Super Enlargement: Take a regular 3-4” embroidery
design and enlarge it to 20-30”. Split it into parts that
fit your embroidery hoop and have it all match up. This
is a wonderful technique for making an attic window quilt.

CONSTELLATION STAR WORKSHOP
1 session – Jean Kearney
Have you heard of the Square in a Square® ruler created
by Jodi Barrows? “Never cut or sew another triangle
again!” In this class a small wall hanging of nine
stars will be made learning the Square in a Square®
technique from one of Jodi’s certified instructors!
Students will learn basic square construction including
speed piecing, Option #1™ and Option #3™ flying
geese. Two of the most valuable triangle units produce
perfect points without cutting or sewing a single triangle.
Measuring 25” x 25”, this quilt is fast and fun,
rewarding you with a top or add a border and you will
have a beautiful table topper for any holiday.
Ruler $19.95 includes booklet with the pattern options.

Open Sewing is for anyone who wants help with any sewing project. Come have fun and learn valuable sewing tips from the experts! Please call to register by noon the day before class.

Creating Freestanding Lace: Learn to create your own freestanding lace designs from existing images or design something from scratch. Once you have created your own, they can be resized without errors, unlike many other companies, because they will be true ART designs. SUNDAY, JUNE 7th. 1:00-4:00pm. Fee $30
SASHIKO FOR BEGINNERS/SASHIKO DRAW-STRING BAG
1 session – Miho Takeuchi
Learn about Sashiko stitching using a traditional pattern stenciled on to the fabric. Materials and tools are available to purchase at the shop. Students will make the Sashiko Draw-string bag in class. SATURDAY, JUNE 13th. 10:00-3:00pm. Fee $40.

QUILTING 101
5 sessions – Kerin Ferrin
Discover the wonderful world of quilting! Students learn the basic skills of quiltmaking such as rotary cutting, piecing, borders, quilting, binding, and labeling as they construct a charming Rail Fence wallhanging using “Start Quilting With Alex Anderson.” Bernina sewing machines available during class. THURSDAYS, JUNE 18th – JULY 23rd (skip JULY 2nd)

ROMAN SHADES
1 session - Sheri Nadeau
Learn how to make Roman Shades. This class will lead you through the steps to make Roman Shades for all your window needs! You will learn the steps from cutting, sewing, and mounting the shade. Pick your favorite home dec fabric or use some of the great quilt fabrics for your project. Have your shade measurements with you when signing up (must decide if you want to mount shade inside the frame or outside of it). Instructor will provide the lining fabric, rings, and cord. Materials fee $10. SUNDAY, JUNE 28th 1:00-5:00pm. Fee $50.
CAMP SEW FUN
2 sessions - Sheri Nadeau
This fun class will teach about the pleasures and
creativity of home sewing to kids from ages 10-13.
The activities and projects completed in this class are
designed to build sewing skills and develop confidence.

BEGINNING SEWING
2 sessions – Margi Varnum
This hands-on class covers sewing basics including pattern and fabric selection, pattern layout and pinning, cutting, fitting, interfacing, construction techniques, seam finishes and more. Students will complete a garment and should have some previous experience with their sewing machine.(Bernina sewing machines available during class.) SUNDAYS, JULY 19th & 26th .

BALI BAG
Carol McLeod
Make a beautiful, sturdy bag (12” high and 11”) from 21/2” strips of fabric and clothesline. Use Bali Pops and the new Kaffe Fassett Collective Design Rolls for this bag or use up leftover binding (2 ?” strips can work) for a scrappy look. This project is not for the timid!! It takes a few hours to cover the clothesline and this MUST be completed before arriving in class.
